Crash Diets Don’t Work

Posted by Leave a Comment

The process of losing weight can seem daunting and sometimes impossible. Like many men and women our weight fluctuates from one month to the next, and we are overwhelmed with what we can and cannot eat. There are so many “get slim gimmicks” on the market today that promise success, then leave us disappointed in the end. We have all tried and failed at crash diets, frustration takes over and our weight loss goal becomes a memory. Crash diets do not work. They help you lose weight fast, but do not teach you how to eat healthy to maintain your weight loss. Once you begin to re-introduce your normal intake of food, you start to gain all your weight back, at times more.

The problem with crash diets is that they deprive your body of the vital nutrients and antioxidants your body and immune system need to function. They leave you feeling fatigued, with no strength left to finish your day. Hunger and irritability take over because your body is craving a healthy diet. Learn to eat balanced, healthy meals, with exercise and will see results. Do not fall prey to those “get slim quick” diets, choose a lifestyle change that will help keep your weight off, and keep you in shape.

About the Author ()

I am a husband, father of 2 girls (I was told that I was meant to be King)! I have been in the fitness industry since graduating from the University of Florida back in 97. I had the privilege to do an internship with the world renowned Dr. Cooper and the Cooper Aerobics Center. My initial start after graduating was as a personal trainer at a small private personal training studio in Orlando. After eight months, I moved to Dallas and worked as a personal trainer and manager for the Premier Athletic Club in Dallas. Since that time I have continued to work as a fitness professional in a variety of roles. Most recent is the development of America's # 1Lifestyle program for Working Moms called "Working Mom Workouts." I enjoy working with my clients and helping people reach their fitness goals.
