180 and counting to finish 2011 strong

Happy July 1st! Today starts the second half of the year and for those of us still needing time to reach our goals there is still hope!

As I write this post we have 180 days left in the year to finish strong and reach our goals. Over the next couple of days I am going to be sharing with you 5 ways to help facilitate your journey and get you back on track to reaching your goals.

Today’s asssignement is to revisit your goals that you set back in January. Although I look at my goals every 90 days when I reach the second half of the year I like to revist them and reflect on a few things. Here is how I approach it and this is what you should do as well.

1.) The first step is to look at the goals you setback in January and mark off which ones you have accomplished. (Unfortunately this year I can not mark any off at this time, but I have set my goals pretty high, so that is okay)

2.) The second thing to do is re-examine your goals and see if they truly are S.M.A.R.T goals.

3.) The third thing that to do is  ask yourself is this still a goal I want to pursue. ( In the past I kept writing down a goal that I thought I wanted to achieve, but I realized that at this current point in my life and career it was not something I found of value, so I crossed it off the list.) If you find yourself writing down a goal year after year and never put effort into in then maybe it is not a priority right now for you, so get rid of it.

4.)Re-commit! Once you have reviewed your goals that you set for yourself and still want to achieve them, re-commit yourself to doing the things necessary to reach them. In the next post I will be giving you my secret strategy to re-commiting yourself, but for now get it back in your mind that you can do it.

5.) Take action! For years I talked about doing big things but real change for me did not happen until I started taking action. Even if it is a small step towards your goal the main point is that you start moving forward and quit staying still!

Well, I hope these 5 tips help you re-energize and refocus yourself on the goals you set back in January of 2011. 180 days is still a lot time to make great things happen. Come join me and together we will shoot high and achieve greatness!
