Well, before I get started let me apologize for taking so long to finish the fifth post in this series. I will make no excuse for my actions and try to do better next time. With that said, let’s move onto to the final post in this series and complete the strategies you need to reach those 2011 fitness goals that you set for yourself.

Now, all the other strategies are important and can make a significant difference in your results but this final strategy takes the cake. If you truly want to be successful in reaching those fitness goals you need to be held accountable. Yes, simple as that! If you step back for a second and just look at how the world works you will see that people need to be held accountable for their actions. Yes, some people have really good discipline and day in day out get things done without someone being over their shoulder to make sure it gets done, but for most of us we need someone to hold us accountable for a particular task.

So, here is what you need to do. Write out the goal that you most want to achieve in the next 90 days and give it to your coach, trainer, significant other or friend. Make sure that the goal is a S.M.A.R.T goal and then ask them to check in on you. It can be weekly, bi weekly, daily or whatever you choose but have them hold you accountable for that goal.

And that is it my friends. I know it seems to good to be true but I am telling you if you want to do just one thing that can give you a great chance for success you need to be held accountable. I wish we all had the discipline to hold ourselves accountable but unfortunately most of us need someone else to be there. So, go out and create some accountability and by the end of the year you will have reached your goal!

I hope you have enjoyed this series. I would love to get your feedback and if you have no-one to hold you accountable contact me and I will hold you accountable.

In health,

Coach Dave

I am a husband, father of 2 girls (I was told that I was meant to be King)! I have been in the fitness industry since graduating from the University of Florida back in 97. I had the privilege to do an internship with the world renowned Dr. Cooper and the Cooper Aerobics Center. My initial start after graduating was as a personal trainer at a small private personal training studio in Orlando. After eight months, I moved to Dallas and worked as a personal trainer and manager for the Premier Athletic Club in Dallas. Since that time I have continued to work as a fitness professional in a variety of roles. Most recent is the development of America's # 1Lifestyle program for Working Moms called "Working Mom Workouts." I enjoy working with my clients and helping people reach their fitness goals.
